DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Sam Williams believed he made a great impression on at least two teams during the pre-draft process - the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Jets. And he was certainly right about one of them, as the Cowboys took him with the No. 56 overall pick in the second round of the NFL Draft on Friday night.

"When I came for the 30-visit (official visit with the Cowboys in Frisco), it was like me and him knew each other for years. We hit it off just like that," Williams said of Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn on the Draft Show on 105.3 The Fan. "And as soon as I got to my room, I spent like 30 minutes telling my agent about the facilities, the coaches, the game plan they have for me … I told my agent I didn't want to leave. I even told them, 'I'm going to miss my plane on purpose so I don't have to leave here."

In a video circulating on social media, Williams is seen being put through a workout by Quinn. And as Williams said, it appears the two men formed a strong bond in their short time getting to know one another.

"I talked to him quite a bit. We texted (before the first round started on Thursday). We were just wishing each other good luck, and I basically just told him, 'I want to be a Cowboy.' Me being worked out by him was a huge honor. I didn't know I was going to get worked out by him. I would have stressed a little more (had I known)."
