The 2022 Major League Baseball trade deadline is this Tuesday, August 2nd, at 5:00 p.m. (CST). The St. Louis Cardinals are considered "in the mix" for potential trades with the Nationals for Juan Soto or even Angels mega-star Shohei Ohtani. Saturday the Cardinals started their positioning in the trade market, and for the future, by recalling Paul DeJong back up to St. Louis. DeJong had 201 at-bats averaging .249 while getting his power-stroke bad in Memphis with 17 home runs and 54 RBIs.

Meanwhile with the Cardinals, looking to bolster their stable of arm talent and pitching staff, traded Sosa today to the Phillies for left-hander JoJo Romero. Romero will head to Memphis for the AAA-Redbirds.
The St. Louis Cardinals can be heard on 790 AM The Bet (WMC-AM) in Memphis on the radio dial.
