We are four weeks into the 2022 NFL season and the Atlanta Falcons at 2-2 have already won the amount of games that they were predicted to win for the entire season. And while Atlanta is playing .500 ball at this point of the season, their performance in their opener against the Saints, which they lost, 27-26, have many believing that the team could very easily had been sitting at 3-1 to this point. Regardless, the Falcons, currently tied for first in the NFC South, have given their fans a reason to be optimistic about the potential outcome of this season as they have shown some promise of beating the odds.

“Arthur Smith’s offense has really kind of taken shape,” NFL writer, Eric Edholm, told Jon Chuckery in response to the 92-9 The Game’s host question as to whether the Falcons have been playing better than he may have anticipated. “I think the offensive design has been impressive with the quarterback,” Edholm continued, adding that he “appreciates” what Marcus Mariota has been able to do up to this point in leading the Falcons’ offense.
As Chuckery and Edholm continued their conversation, the NFL writer would state that he does believe there is still “work to be done” defensively however, he believes that they have done enough to begin getting out of the “worst defenses” conversations.
