The Atlanta Hawks took a significant step towards becoming a contender in the Eastern Conference when they reportedly added Spurs All Star Guard Dejounte Murray via trade on Wednesday afternoon.

While it seems to be a positive addition for Atlanta, it will bring about a change in the dynamic of the Hawks backcourt and the role of superstar Trae Young, and John and Hugh chat about what to expect to be different next season.

"Their numbers are going to go down, one of the numbers that will go down is Trae's assists if he ends up playing off ball" says John Fricke.

Trae Young averaged 28.4 points and 9.7 assists per game in the 2021-2022 season while Dejounte Murray averaged 21.1 points and 9.2 assists on the season which puts them in a category of their own.

The Hawks would likely seem comfortable with Trae not having to carry as much of the offense on his shoulders as he has in recent seasons and a drop in some of his statistics could hopefully lead to a little bit better showing on the defensive end as well.
