PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Pens add more experience to the forward group as TSN reports the Pens signed 30-year-old left-winger Matt Nieto and paying him $900,000 a year for two seasons.

The Avs acquired Nieto at the trade deadline last year, he played 36 games for Colorado in the regular season with four goals and five assists and was a plus seven averaging nearly 11 minutes of ice time a game.

Nieto taken in the second round by San Jose in the 2011 draft out of Boston University. He would play two stints with the Sharks (364 games, 47 goals, 62 assists) and his other five years with Colorado (287 games, 38 goals, 52 assists). He has eight career playoff goals and 21 points in 62 games. He’s historically responsible with the puck, doesn’t fire a lot of shots.
