PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Pirates traded right-handed reliever Kyle Nicolas within the division, sending him to the Reds for Tyler Callihan.

An infielder or outfielder, Callihan hit .303 with four home runs, four doubles and six stolen bases in 24 games in AAA in 2025. He was called up to the Reds in late April, but a broken arm in early May ended his season.

Drafted in the third round in 2019 by the Reds out of high school, the 25-year-old left-handed hitter was Cincinnati’s 19th best prospect.

Nicolas turned 27-years-old last month and was 1-2 with a 4.74 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with 34 strikeouts and 18 walks in 31 appearances last year. In 98 career MLB innings, 3-4, 4.68 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, 96 strikeouts and 53 walks.
