Russell Wilson limited with calf issue on Thursday

The Steelers have announced that starting quarterback, veteran Russell Wilson was limited on Thursday with a calf injury.

Reaction to Wilson being limited on Thursday

It is the same calf which he injured on the first day of training camp pushing a sled during conditioning drills. Tomlin wouldn't answer if the aggravation occurred in practice saying he has no long-term concerns about the injury.

Wilson did not speak with reporters after practice, after he was originally scheduled to do so. Backup quarterback Justin Fields also didn’t speak to reporters Thursday.

Tomlin said Wilson was going to be evaluated by the medical staff, 'to exercise an abundance of caution'.

Reporters on site said they didn’t notice any limping when Wilson walked by. Wilson is scheduled to talk with reporters after practice on Friday, the final one before the season opener.

Tomlin said he is 'extremely comfortable' if Fields would be the starter in Atlanta.
