Some good news following Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick’s trip to the hospital after suffering, what was reported as an injury to his chest, during Monday’s game.
With a little under 11 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter Fitzpatrick dove to stop Jerome Ford from scoring a touchdown.
Fitzpatrick was seen on a knee blinking frequently, then a shot of him on the sideline looking like he was going to throw up.
He was taken to the hospital for tests. “He had a chest injury, they wanted to exercise and abundance of caution, they took him to the hospital,” said Head Coach Mike Tomlin during his weekly news conference.
Tomlin says “they feel good about where he is,” and was in the training facility Tuesday morning.
We’ll have to keep an eye on the injury report to see if Fitzpatrick is limited, but it sounds encouraging.
Other injuries, Gunner Olszewski is in concussion protocol, Elandon Roberts left with a “stinger” and lost feeling. He’ll be monitored through the week.
