LATROBE, PA (93.7 The Fan) – We don’t know if he calls himself ‘Nevelle Island’, but the Steelers signed corner Nevelle Clarke as they had an open roster spot after releasing a pair of corners on Monday.

He’s another player who came from an alternate professional football league, unlike three of the other Steelers from the XFL, Clarke came from the USFL. Clarke played the last two seasons for the New Orleans Breakers finishing with three career interceptions. At 6’1”, 190 pounds, he initially came into the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings after playing 40 games at Central Florida with five interceptions and 93 tackles.

In his NFL.com draft profile, they praised his good height and length and his ability to ‘beat up’ receivers and attacking the catch. He had issues coming out of college with agility and ability to recover quickly when beaten. He had good enough ball skills to earn a longer look.
