93.7 The Fan (PITTSBURGH) - Russell Wilson is signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers per sources and Russell Wilson himself.
Wilson tweeted a video Sunday night of Steeler fans waving Terrible Towels and Renegade playing in the background. The tweet said "Year 13. Grateful. @Steelers."
Per Ari Meirov, who covers the NFL for The 33rd Team, the deal will be one year for 1.2 Million dollars. Denver will pay him 37.8 Million dollars.
The Steelers said from the beginning of the offseason that they were going to have a quarterback competition and they lived up to their word, as they are bringing in a former Super Bowl champion. Wilson threw for 3,070 yards, 26 touchdowns and 8 interceptions last season for the Denver Broncos.
The deal cannot be signed until Wednesday, when NFL free agency begins.
Denver is on the Steelers schedule for the 2024 season, which means Wilson more than likely will start against his former team.
