Steelers wide Receiver DK Metcalf apparently got into an altercation with a fan during Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions, and it was all caught on video.
It happened in the second quarter of Sunday’s game, when DK Metcalf was seen on camera getting into an apparent altercation with a fan during a commercial break.
Commentators Jim Nantz and Tony Romo provided this brief commentary on the incident as they returned from the break.
“Oh my gosh, oh my goodness,” said Romo, with Nantz adding, “That is not going to have great consequences for the Steelers and Metcalf.”
CBS Sports rules analyst Gene Steratore later explained that game officials could not penalize Metcalf from an officiating or in-game standpoint, because they did not witness the altercation between Metcalf and the fan.
However, the league office is expected to take further action at an appropriate time.
Metcalf is facing a possible suspension, fine or both, but no word yet from the NFL.
