(610 Sports) – The Kansas City Chiefs didn't wait long to sign another wide receiver, following their blockbuster trade of Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL.com, the team has signed former Packers' wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to a 3-year $30 million deal with $18 million guaranteed.

The Chiefs brought the former Packer in shortly after the news broke that Tyreek Hill was granted permission to seek a trade. Valdes-Scantling will join a revamped receiving corps, which will include the recently acquired JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman. The Chiefs will be without Byron Pringle and DeMarcus Robinson, who both departed in free agency.

Valdes-Scantling led the NFL with 20.9 yards per catch in 2020, catching six touchdown passes that season. He missed seven games in 2021 due to a hamstring injury and COVID, finishing the season with just 26 receptions for 430 yards.

Valdes-Scantling, who played his college football at South Florida, has never had a 1,000 receiving season but has field-stretching ability that the Chiefs will look to utilize and allow Smith-Schuster and tight-end Travis Kelce to work the middle of the field.

With 12 picks in this year's NFL Draft, the Chiefs could still look to draft a wide receiver, as this is thought to be a deep draft for the position.
