This Is Where Your Donations Go ❤️

When you donate to Rise and Shine CT’s 6K Toys for Girls & Boys, your generosity goes straight into the hands of children who need it most — through trusted, local organizations doing real work in our communities.

This week, we were honored to talk with two incredible leaders whose organizations are benefiting directly from this year’s campaign:

Bernie Hallums – Blue Angels Foundation (Manchester)

Bernie is the founder and CEO of the Blue Angels Foundation and a retired Manchester police officer who started the organization 25 years ago with a simple mission: make sure kids don’t go without.

The Blue Angels work closely with law enforcement and volunteers to deliver toys and support directly to families in need — especially during the holidays. Thanks to your donations, they’re able to bring joy, dignity, and relief to kids who might otherwise go without a Christmas morning.

James Jones – Boys & Girls Club of New Britain

James Jones represents the Boys & Girls Club of New Britain, a cornerstone organization serving hundreds of local children year-round.

From after-school programs to mentorship and safe spaces, the club provides stability and opportunity — and during the holidays, that includes making sure kids feel seen, celebrated, and cared for. Support from 6K Toys for Girls & Boys helps ensure no child is left out.

Why Your Donation Matters

Every dollar you give stays right here in Connecticut, supporting organizations that know their communities and their kids. $10 = one toy.
One small donation can make a big difference — and thousands of small acts of kindness add up to something powerful. Thank you for helping us fill Santa’s sleigh — and for showing what Connecticut compassion looks like. 🎄
