A teenage girl from Tennessee was in St. Louis over the weekend for a volleyball tournament when she was struck by a car; resulting in having both of her legs amputated.
On Saturday night, Janae Edmondson was at 11th and St. Charles when a driver sped through a yield sign, hitting a second car, and pinning Edmondson between that car and another.

The suspect, Daniel Riley, did not have a valid driver's license and was driving 20 mph above the speed limit. KSDK reported that Riley was set to go to trial for armed robbery. That incident took place in 2020, and the case was set to be heard in 2022 but the case was delayed by St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner’s Office. Riley violated the terms of his GPS monitoring system more than 40 times.
