Last night, the Mavericks celebrated the greatest player in franchise history with the retirement of Dirk Nowitzki's jersey.
No Maverick will ever wear No. 41 again.
The ceremony was preceded by the Mavs' defeat of the Golden State Warriors 99-82, where Luka dropped 26 points and collected 7 rebounds and 8 assists, and the team held the phenomenal Stephen Curry to just 14 points.
During the celebration, Mavs owner Mark Cuban unveiled a mini prototype of the statue the team will erect outside the American Airlines Center in honor of Dirk, a statue that resembled the Big Baller from the G's signature shooting motion.
The statue is great, and will absolutely look amazing outside the American Airlines Center, or wherever the Mavs end up actually playing their home games when their lease on the AAC is up, but a lot of people have an issue with one thing...the three balls.
Some on Twitter have called the three balls "unnecessary," or just denounce its gaudy look.
And some have even compared the three balls to a...let's just say "adult toy."
What do you think about the statue? Ok with the three balls or do they need to go?
