Police in Coolidge, Arizona found 19-year-old Brandon Soules laying in a field near a water tower with his hands tied behind his back and a bandana stuffed in his mouth.
The teen told police he had been kidnapped by two men who knocked him out and drove him around town before eventually dumping him near the water tower. Unfortunately, the police had an inkling suspicion his story didn't add up, and after an investigation found he faked the entire thing.
Officers say surveillance video did not corroborate Soule's story of being hit over the head and stuffed in his car in front of his home, and that his reason for being kidnapped, a large amount of money his father had supposedly hidden around town, was also a lie.
According to ABC 15, Soules was arrested a week after the incident for filing a false police report, when he finally confessed he faked the whole thing so he could get out of a day's work at his job at a tire shop!
He was also subsequently fired from his job.
