Micah Parsons named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year

Just a few weeks ago, Micah Parsons was named Rookie of the Year and Defensive Rookie of the Year by the Pro Football Writers of America. Thursday night, he earned another badge when he was voted Defensive Rookie of the Year by the National Football League.

The NFL Honors ceremony was held Thursday night, and the Dallas Cowboys took home two awards. Micah Parsons as DROY, and defensive coordinator Dan Quinn as Assistant Coach of the Year.

Parsons showed up on the red carpet with his son Malcolm. They wore matching suits.

Kelly Clarkson announced the Cowboys linebacker as the winner. As the Young Lion took to the stage, his fellow team members stood an clapped. Dak Prescott, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin, and Jerry Jones were all in attendance. During his acceptance speech, Micah thanked God, his family, Cowboys Nation, and his hometown of Harrisburg, PA. Chills.
