The pandemic has caused a shortage in school bus drivers across the country. With not enough people to drive the buses, how are our kids supposed to get to school?
A school in Wilmington, Delaware has an interesting solution: paying parents to drop off their own kids at school.
EastSide Charter School parents aren't required to learn how to drive a bus either. If they drop off their own kids, using their own cars, the school will pay them $700 to so!
Aaron Bass, chief executive of EastSide, said he is funneling his transportation budget to parents in order to offer them a stipend for driving and picking up their kids.
According to the NY Post, over 30% of the school's parents have already signed up.
