13-year-old Kiley Holman was visiting Morey's Piers, an amusement park in New Jersey, for her friend Georgia's birthday when the improbable happened.
While the pair was riding a roller coaster, video captured a seagull flying right into Kiley's face, latching on, before she managed to shove it away.
Kiley told Action News, "When I got shot up, then I saw it. It was going the opposite way, and then it came back and hit me right in the face. It felt really light, and it only left like the tiniest scratch."
Thankfully having only escaped with a scratch, Kiley can laugh at the incident, and in fact, has always wanted to try and catch one!
She said, "I saw it on the internet, people trying to catch them and, I don't know, I just thought it would be cool.".
