3 reasons why you shouldn't skip your check-up | Bee Inspired

In the early days of the pandemic, the doctor's office was the absolute last place you wanted to be. And in fairness, that makes sense. We were told to stay home while the world figured this mess out.

And while we're not out of the woods yet, it certainly feels like we're getting close. Vaccines are all the rage. Eating indoors is a thing again. Shoot, even concerts are coming back.

But question: are you still putting off that doctor's appointment? It's okay if you are. No judgment. What is "health" anyway?

Sarcasm aside, your health has never been more important.
That's why we sat down with Dr. Angela Skrzynski, a family medicine physician at Virtua Health, to talk through concerns around scheduling your next doctor's visit.

1. It's as safe as possible.
"At the beginning of the pandemic, we had to completely rethink the way we delivered care," says Dr. Skrzynski. "That meant fully committing to creating a safe, clean environment to protect our staff and patients alike.

"We're constantly cleaning surfaces, we're routinely checking temperatures, we've installed protective barriers in necessary locations," she added. "You could argue that a doctor's office is one of the safest places you could visit these days."

2. Get back to good health.
"In any circumstance, putting off routine check-ups can be a pretty dangerous game," says Dr. S. "A lot can happen in a year, and those annual check-ups allow us to answer your questions, assess your health, and make sure everything is running smoothly."

3. It's easier than ever.
"Telehealth visits allow you to connect with a physician on your terms," says Dr. S. "Over the past year, we really ramped up our digital capabilities to make appointments easy and convenient. So even if you're not quite ready to visit us in person, we're here for you in more ways than one."
