Monday’s NBA slate delivers two intriguing matchups that offer strong betting opportunities. The Cavaliers, thriving under Kenny Atkinson with an undefeated record, look poised to continue their dominant form against the struggling Bulls. Meanwhile, the Nets, who have shown resilience on the road, face a depleted Pelicans squad plagued by injuries. Here’s a breakdown of the best bets, with a focus on Cleveland’s spread and Brooklyn’s moneyline play as they aim to keep their momentum rolling.

Cavaliers (11-0) -7.5 at Bulls (4-6)

It seems like ditching J.B. Bickerstaff for Kenny Atkinson was a genius move for the Cavaliers. Cleveland is undefeated SU, 9-2 ATS, has the best Offensive Rating (122.0) and has the 8th-best Defensive Rating (109.9) for the 2nd-best Net Rating (12.1) in the Association. I expect the Cavs’ offense to thrive in this matchup against the Bulls, who play at the fastest pace in the NBA and rank 19th in Defensive Rating. Chicago is off to a 4-6 SU and 4-6 ATS start and have gotten crushed in the paint, where they’ve allowed an NBA-high 58.8 points per game. Cleveland ranks 5th in points in the paint scored per game (53.8) and I expect them to continue their winning (and covering) ways.

Nets (4-6) -120 ML at Pelicans (3-7)

Are the Nets sneakily not awful? While they’re 4-6 SU, they hung with the Cavaliers (105-100 loss), Celtics (108-104 loss) and Nuggets (144-139 loss) all on the road. Ranking 15th in Offensive Rating and 16th in Defensive Rating, Brooklyn has essentially looked like a middling, average team, as their record indicates. The Pelicans rank 22nd in Offensive Rating and dead-last in Defensive Rating and have been utterly decimated by injuries. While New Orleans is going to get Trey Murphy III back, Zion Williamson, CJ McCollum, Dejounte Murray, Jordan Hawkins and Herbert Jones are all out. New Orleans has not been competitive over their last four games, losing by 15 to the Hawks, 18 to the Trail Blazers, nine to the Cavaliers and 27 to the Magic. Give me Brooklyn to win this game outright on the road.
