As Week 10 of the NFL season approaches, two running backs stand out for anytime touchdown bets: Giants’ Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Steelers’ Najee Harris. With Tracy Jr. capitalizing on a favorable matchup against a weak Panthers run defense, and Harris set to maintain his momentum against Washington, these plays offer solid value. Here’s why these backs are primed to hit paydirt this week.
Giants RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. Anytime TD vs. Panthers (+100, BetMGM)
Over the last five weeks, Tyrone Tracy Jr. has claimed his spot as New York’s RB1 and has seen between 17 and 23 touches in four of the five contests with the lone exception of a blowout loss to the Eagles. Carolina has allowed an NFL-high 1.4 rushing touchdowns per game to opposing running backs and has allowed an NFL-high 132.9 rushing yards per contest. Since taking over the workhorse role in Week 5, Tracy has gotten 78% of running back carries and 60% of running back targets and over the last four games, he’s gotten seven red zone opportunities while Devin Singletary and Eric Gray combined for none. As 6.5-point road favorites, the game script should work in Tracy’s favor and it’s reasonable to assume that he should see 20-to-25 touches with the upside of a ceiling performance in this smash spot.
Steelers RB Najee Harris Anytime TD vs. Commanders (+100, FanDuel)
As described in my Player Prop Picks article, Harris has been on quite a heater lately, ripping off three consecutive games of 100-plus rushing yards. Coming off a bye, the Steelers (+3) will be well-rested and should go right back to the ground-and-pound style they employed before the week of rest. Washington has allowed an NFL-worst 5.23 yards per carry to running backs this season and 0.89 rushing touchdowns per game to the position (T9th-worst). Over his last two weeks, Harris has seen 11 opportunities in the red zone while his teammates have seen 15 combined, so it’s reasonable to project that he will get touches around the goal line once again this week. With 36 missed or broken tackles to his name this season (3rd-most in NFL), Harris is someone I love backing, especially when I can double my money.
