Monday Night Football brings us an NFC showdown between the Lions and 49ers. What once looked like a marquee matchup has lost some luster, with San Francisco already eliminated from playoff contention and Detroit’s postseason fate hinging on next week’s game against the Vikings. While the stakes aren’t high tonight, the field is still packed with playmakers, and the anytime touchdown market offers plenty of value. Here are three players I believe have a strong chance to find the end zone.
Jameson Williams (+175, FanDuel)
Jameson Williams is hitting his stride at just the right time. The wideout has scored a touchdown in each of his last two games, including a season-best performance against the Bears where he hauled in five receptions for 143 yards. His 82-yard touchdown last week showcased his ability to take the top off any defense. Facing a 49ers defense likely keyed in on slowing Amon-Ra St. Brown, Williams should see increased opportunities against a unit that’s already dealing with injuries. Adding to his appeal, Williams has been a red-zone option quite a bit lately, with four targets inside the 20 over his last five games. With his knack for finding the end zone and a favorable matchup, I love his chances to score again at +130.
Jauan Jennings (+180, BetMGM)
Jauan Jennings has only found the end zone six times this season, but tonight’s matchup against a leaky Detroit secondary sets the stage for him to add to that total. The Lions are giving up the second-most receiving yards to opposing wideouts, and Jennings has been a reliable red-zone target for Brock Purdy, with 14 looks this season resulting in eight catches and five touchdowns. With Deebo Samuel in a bit of a slump and Detroit excelling at shutting down tight ends, Jennings presents great value at +180 to find pay dirt.
Jennings’ six touchdowns have come across three games, scoring twice against the Bears in Week 14 and three times against the Rams in Week 3. If you want a longshot to sweat out, you can grab him to score 2+ touchdowns at +1400 on BetMGM.
Craig Reynolds (+650, DraftKings)
With David Montgomery out for the foreseeable future, Craig Reynolds steps into a bigger role and has a perfect opportunity to make an impact. While he logged just four carries for 18 yards last week, those numbers will likely increase in this matchup. Jahmyr Gibbs will dominate the workload early, but with this game holding no real significance for either team—the Lions’ focus is on locking up the NFC’s No. 1 seed next week against the Vikings—there’s a real chance Dan Campbell rests his starters late. That scenario would leave the ground game in Reynolds' hands. Adding to his appeal, the 49ers’ defense has struggled to contain the run this season, giving up 15 rushing touchdowns and two receiving scores to opposing backs.
