The Week 17 Thursday Night Football matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and Chicago Bears offers plenty of intrigue for player prop bettors. With the Seahawks fighting to solidify their playoff position and the Bears looking to build momentum for the future, key players on both sides are primed to shine under the spotlight. From DK Metcalf’s evolving role in Seattle’s offense to Zach Charbonnet’s expanded workload and DJ Moore’s consistent production for Chicago, there’s value to be found in several props. Let’s dive into the top picks for this primetime showdown.
Seahawks WR DK Metcalf Under 4.5 Receptions vs. Bears (-120, BetMGM)
After a scorching-hot start to the season, Metcalf has cooled off as Jaxon Smith-Njigba has taken over as the clear top option in Seattle’s passing game. Metcalf has gone under this number in five straight contests, eight out of his last nine starts and in 10 of 13 starts overall this season. Not only that, but Chicago surprisingly has allowed the least receptions (10.2) and targets (16.13) per game across the entire NFL to opposing wideouts. Even with Kenneth Walker out, I don’t expect Metcalf to all of a sudden reel in catch after catch.
Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet Over 64.5 Rushing Yards vs. Bears (-115, BetMGM)
As noted above, Walker has been ruled out for this game, which puts Charbonnet atop Seattle’s backfield. Back on December 8, he took 22 carries for 124 yards (6.1 yards per carry) and two touchdowns along with seven catches for 59 yards en route to a 30-18 win over the Cardinals. The next game, he took eight carries for 54 yards (6.8 yards per carry), but was scripted out of the game due to a blowout loss against the Packers. Chicago has allowed 117.2 yards per game to opposing running backs (2nd-most in the NFL), including 4.84 yards per carry (4th-most). To put into perspective how well opposing running backs have performed against the Bears, here’s how many rushing yards they’ve racked up since Week 8: 116, 205, 120, 93, 125, 175, 107, 114 and 140. I expect a big performance from Charbonnet in this matchup.
Bears WR DJ Moore Over 5.5 Receptions vs. Seahawks (-102, FanDuel)
Moore has been one of the few bright spots on Chicago’s roster this season and his connection with Caleb Williams has flourished over the last handful of weeks. Moore has gone over this mark six consecutive times with seven, seven, eight, six, eight and seven receptions on seven, seven, 16, eight, eight and 10 targets. Since the Bears (+4) are home underdogs, I expect Chicago to play from behind (again), which should play right into Moore getting plenty of targets once again. Since Thomas Brown became head coach, Chicago’s offense has schemed to get Moore the football on designed plays and I don’t anticipate that changing this week. Even though the Bears are out of playoff contention, Brown was outspoken about the fact that starters will not rest the last two games of the year, so there’s no threat of Moore sitting, which is a plus.
