Navy Master-at-Arms Patrick Tate Adamiak was sentenced to 20 years in prison this week for illegal weapons sales. A master-at-arms is the Navy's military police and is charged with everything from running the brig to crowd control, handling K9 dogs, and conducting investigations.
From 2021 to 2022, prosecutors explained that Adamiak obtained illegal unregistered machine guns and sold eight of them to an undercover Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms confidential source via the Internet. When ATF executed a search warrant on Adamiak's residence, they discovered an additional 25 unregistered weapons and two grenade launchers and two antitank missile launchers.
The press release from the US attorney's office does not specifically say if Adamiak acquired these military-grade weapons from the Navy, and if so, how he was able to smuggle them out of the arms room to his home.
During the sentencing process, it was revealed that Adamiak was involved in illegal weapons sales going back to 2016 and that he ran his own business called Black Dog Arsenal which was seeing increased profits around the time that he was busted by the ATF.
