A Healdsburg man has been arrested in Petaluma on suspicion of driving under the influence and attacking an officer.

Federico Morales, 24, was pulled over at 5:22 p.m. on Wednesday after a minor collision with another vehicle near Lakeville Highway and Casa Grande Rd.

Morales allegedly showed signs of intoxication, but when officers attempted to conduct field sobriety tests he became confrontational, Petaluma police reported. According to officers, the 24-year-old then struck one of the officers who was trying to take him into custody.

Morales was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence, resisting arrest, battery on a peace officer, threatening a peace officer and violation of a previous probation.
