SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – Some of the worst damage from this week's storm that slammed the Bay Area happened in Capitola Village in Santa Cruz County.

For more, stream KCBS Radio now.

The damage is so extensive that even residents are calling it unprecedented. Some who have lived there long enough say this is the worst storm they've had since the storm of 1982.

The entire village is also still without power and as of right now the small roads leading in and out of the wharf have been cordoned off.

A significant amount of damage was done to the wharf itself, which collapsed on Thursday due to the massive waves drummed up by the storm.

Midway down the wharf a large chunk is still missing.

But there is more to come as two more storms are heading to the Bay Area in the next few days. During the brief lull in the rain on Friday a cleanup was underway.

Pumps are working to manage the flooding and bulldozers are helping clear away debris while people are sweeping the area.

It’s unclear when the village will be back up and running.
