Disneyland, Disney's California Adventure and the park's three hotels have been closed for nine months.
That won't change on Christmas Day in 2020, as the parks remain shuttered through at least March 2021. However, Christmas Day will also be a time that Downtown Disney and the partially reopened area of California Adventure also close for the day.
This comes as outdoor dining was suspended at Downtown Disney for the first time since it reopened in July and 350 employees were furloughed due to the state's latest stay-at-home order.
The week of December 25-31 is typically one of the busiest of the year at the parks and hotels, including last year when Disneyland stopped ticket sales on the morning of December 27 because the park was at full capacity.
Disneyland resort President Ken Potrock sent a letter to workers noting that Christmas Day has been a special time at the Disneyland Resort for the past six decades, but that this year is "certainly different."
