A 69 year-old man who was clobbered during a hit-and-run incident in Fremont on June 30, died last week police announced Monday.
Allen Kwok Keung Sham, from Livermore, succumbed to his injuries on June 7, just over a week after he was struck from behind by a vehicle while walking in the right lane of Peralta Blvd.
The driver, who remains at-large, did not make any attempt to check on the welfare of the victim according to authorities who watched surveillance footage of the incident. The suspect stopped briefly after the collision before turning right on Dusterberry Way.
Officers described the vehicle as a dark colored sedan, most likely with moderate damage to its front bumper, engine hood and/or windshield area.
This is Fremont’s sixth fatal traffic collision investigation this year.
