A Bay Area teenager has been accused of murdering his mother and seriously injuring his father Friday morning.
The 14-year-old suspect was detained by officers on July 16 near his house in Fremont after allegedly stabbing his mother and father multiple times.
The Fremont Police Department responded to Paseo Padre Parkway and Fremont Boulevard at around 12:30 a.m. to investigate a reported assault.
According to a press release, they found the boy’s mother unconscious in the home suffering from stab wounds. Officers attempted to revive the woman, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The boy’s father was discovered conscious, but also suffering from visible stab wounds. He was transported to a trauma care center where he has since been stabilized.
Officers found the teenager 30 minutes after discovering the crime scene. According to the report, he was walking down a street a mile from the house covered in blood.
The suspect’s identity and potential motive have not been released.
This is an active investigation.
