Mental health is receiving the attention it deserves at a community-built service platform in San Jose.
OneSJ was launched on Friday to help address the young adult mental health crisis in San Jose.
The website connects users with relevant mental health services in the city and throughout the wider Bay Area, providing support in categories such as domestic violence, the unhoused, LGBTQIA+ and students.

The creators acknowledged that software alone is not enough to solve mental health issues, but it does make it easier for people to find help.
OneSJ is a product of the Mayor’s Office of Technology & Innovation, which brought together four talented San Jose State University students and recent graduates to create digital solutions for pressing city issues. The idea was to "let residents pick a problem to solve that is most authentic and pressing to their own experiences."
"They ultimately identified the problem, designed the solution and built the website," a city spokesperson Gina Rodriguez said. "The SJSU team volunteered their talent and time to support San Jose in a time of need."
