San Francisco Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in an assault on a Muni bus last October.

The incident happened at about 2:15 p.m. on October 3 when Muni's 14-Line bus came to a stop at Mission St. and Duboce St., police said Friday. That's when a 44-year-old man who was on the bus lost his balance and fell down. The bus operator called for an ambulance, telling the other passengers to get off the bus.

Police said one of the passengers that had just disembarked got back on the bus and threw the victim out of the bus' rear door. He struck his head on the sidewalk and suffered a traumatic brain injury.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital. He's still receiving treatment there.
