San Francisco is reopening more than 180 playgrounds around the city amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Eboni Morris is not a fan of being stuck at home, so the 8-year-old is happy to finally be let back into a playground.
“Because when you go to a playground you can release all your stress by playing, you can do fun stuff, you can forget about the bad things,” she told KCBS Radio.
Mayor London Breed said reopening playgrounds is good for not just kids, but adults too.
“It gives us hope that the time that we’ve spent in isolation, the time we spent doing what we needed to do during this pandemic, we know there’s a light at the end of the tunnel,” she noted.
Fifth grader Brazille Monroe told KCBS Radio that it’s a fun change from how she’s been spending her time.

“Mostly, I’ve been sitting in my giant beanbag that I have in my room usually doing school and after that playing Fortnite - a video game,” Monroe said.
Rules about wearing masks and practicing social distancing will apply, and capacity will be limited on playgrounds.
Also, said Parks General Manager Phil Ginsberg, one rule is especially important for caregivers: no cell phones.
Mayor Breed said to allow more reopenings, such as schools, San Franciscans need to keep up their responsible behavior.
“Kids are not in school,” she added. “They’re in front of a screen on a regular basis and that is not good for them. We know it’s not good for them.”
