You won't find it on the map, but the street signs have changed on San Francisco's Russia Avenue.

The signage – four street markers at two intersections apparently altered by an unidentified person – is a remarkably good piece of work.

For the most part, residents in the neighborhood are amused and supportive at the makeshift "No War" and "Ukraine" street signs, held up by cable ties. "I love it," one woman told KCBS Radio. "It's a work of art, right? It's fun to look at. It gives us something to talk about."
It's the latest example of pro-Ukraine art seen in the Bay Area.

The signs may come and go. But despite what they may say, for now, these several blocks in the Excelsior District will officially remain Russia Avenue.
