Officers responded to reports of a stabbing near baggage claim number four of the airport's Terminal 3 at approximately 4:55 a.m., San Francisco Police Officer Robert Rueca told KCBS Radio.
Authorities arrived on the scene and located an adult man suffering from stab wounds. He was transported to a hospital for injuries that weren't life-threatening. Police arrested an adult man, whom KRON first reported and San Francisco police confirmed on Tuesday afternoon was 48-year-old Samuel Douglas Day.
San Mateo County Sheriff's Office records listed Day in custody, booked on a felony attempted homicide charge.
Rueca confirmed to KCBS Radio's Matt Bigler that suspect is an unhoused person and the victim is an airport employee. CLEAR confirmed in an emailed statement to KCBS Radio that the victim worked for the company, and they were "working closely with all appropriate law enforcement and airport security officials investigating this matter."
