It was revealed Saturday by a friend that the victims of the crash were two Sacramento residents, Mike Briare and Jennifer Fox, KNTV reported.
According to Sacramento station KCRA, Fox was a parent of a student at Jesuit High School. The school sent a letter to families Saturday indicating that Briare was a friend of Fox.
The single-engine Vans RV-10 personal plane crashed into the Marin Headlands near Slackers Hill at 12:09 p.m. on Friday. The aircraft's emergency beacon was activated at about 12:11 p.m. and multiple first responders were dispatched to look for the plane, the Marin County Sheriff's Department reported in a press release Saturday.

The plane went down on a backcountry ridge north of Conzelman Road, away from roads and hiking trails. According to authorities, the victims' identities are expected to be officially verified on Monday.
At the time of the crash the Headlands were inundated with fog, however, it wasn't immediately clear what circumstances led to the accident.
KCBS Radio has reached out to both the National Park Service and Jesuit High School for comment, but has not yet heard back.
