Gunfire broke out on Monday night at a Tri-State Fair and Rodeo in Texas, resulting in three people being shot by a gunman before he was shot and wounded by sheriff’s deputies.
Potter County Sheriff Brian Thomas shared that the shooting occurred just before 11 p.m. as a man opened fire on Potter County deputies working off-duty at the fair in Amarillo, ABC7 reported.
Those shot included a deputy, a firefighter, and a bystander. Thomas said the male suspect opened fire with unknown motives before deputies fired back, stopping him.
The three victims that were shot were taken to the hospital. Authorities shared they all suffered non-life threatening injuries.
On the other hand, Thomas shared that the gunman did suffer life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for medical support.
The victims have not been identified, but the shooting that took place 365 miles northwest of Dallas is being investigated by the Texas Rangers.
