California has now met the goal of administering two million COVID-19 vaccine doses in the hardest hit parts of the state.

That is according to public health source, which confirmed the news to KNX 1070 News in Los Angeles.

This means the rules for moving ahead in the state's coronavirus reopening system will be eased, likely allowing Contra Costa and Sonoma counties to move from the purple to red tier, possibly by Monday.

Limited indoor operations will be allowed to resume at gyms, restaurants, movie theaters, museums, aquariums and zoos.

Retail shops and indoor malls will also get to increase their capacity. And schools will be permitted to resume in-person instruction for students in grades 7 through 12.
