Alexandra Datig, the former fiancée and radio producer for talk show host Larry Elder, has filed a formal police report with the Los Angeles Police Department alleging that she was subject to “several incidents of domestic abuse” while with the GOP gubernatorial recall candidate.
Datig delivered the statement to the LAPD on Wednesday, where she said she was interviewed for two hours by detectives, according to reporting by Politico.
The 18-month engagement with Elder was broken after he pulled a loaded gun from a nightstand during an argument in 2015, according to Datig.
She didn't file a police report at the time due to fear and intimidation. She recently decided to make a report after Elder made some public statements denying the gun incident and suggesting she fabricated the account.
His denials, she told police, have resulted in her receiving hostile threats on social media.
“It’s time to draw the line," she said in an interview Wednesday. “I am not the one who has to come clean about my life. He is."
Lt. Ben Fernandes said the department would not confirm or deny it was investigating the allegations.
The former producer provided details of new incidents in her statement, including what she described as pressure from the talk show host to have an “open relationship" and “unwanted sexual activity," which she said she rejected.
Her recent report goes into detail about the alleged gun incident.
“He was angry and exhibited hostility towards me in the form of silent scorn during our conversation," according to the statement. “He proceeded to open the drawer and reached inside for his .45 caliber revolver. Making sure the firearm was in my view, he opened the cylindrical, rotating part of the revolver checking to make sure the gun was loaded with cartridges. He proceeded to close the cylinder, again, making sure the firearm was in my view and then proceeded to put the firearm back in the drawer."
She also alleged Elder pushed her in the hallway by the upstairs bedroom, saying, “I don’t want you," and that Elder's behavior "constantly made me feel threatened."
