Leading Democrats are urging voters with mail-in ballots to bring them to the County Office Building, instead of sending them through the Postal Service.
“At this point, we’re less than a week out from Election Day,” Allegheny County At-Large Council Member told KDKA Radio. “All of the experts have said it’s unlikely if you mail your ballot today, that it will arrive at Elections Division on time. So if you have a mail-in ballot in your hands still, you need to bring it! Either to the County Elections Division, the Dropbox in the County Office Building, or as a last case resort - you can bring the ballot & both envelopes to your polling place on Election Day to spoil it and vote in person.”
Hallam, who was also behind the “No Naked Ballots” campaign said they wanted to do something to get the word out.
“We knew we had to get creative to amplify this message over so much of the misinformation that’s being spread around. At the end of the day we just want to make sure every vote, regardless of political affiliation, is able to be counted.”
The Tribune-Review reports the party is also telling voters with mail-in ballots who later decide they’d rather vote in person next Tuesday, they must bring the ballot and the two envelopes with it to the polling place.
