Bill Peduto is seeking a third term as Pittsburgh's mayor.

Peduto made the announcement during a townhall meeting with various community leaders that was streamed on his Facebook page.

"As leaders of Pittsburgh and as people making a difference in neighborhoods all throughout the City, I wanted you to be the first to hear directly from me that I am running for a third term as the Mayor of the City of Pittsburgh," Peduto told the select group of participants in the meeting.

Peduto previously announced publicly his intention to run for a third term over the summer, but today's video marks his first official campaign announcement.

"I appreciate the work that you've put in in making your communities better," he continued. "Over these past seven years, we have a number of examples, but it's not really the brick and mortar of development, but it's more about the people who call these neighborhoods home that is Pittsburgh."

Peduto was first elected to serve as Pittsburgh's Mayor in 2013, capturing 84% of the vote. His reelection in 2017 saw him running unopposed.
