Workers at the Bloomfield Starbucks voted 20-to-0 to unionize Wednesday afternoon. They're the first in Pennsylvania to do so, though 10 others have filed, including five in the Pittsburgh area.
Christi Sessa is with the Bloomfield Starbucks Organizing Committee.
“We deserve a voice in our workplace and right now, 20 of us agreed with that.”
A number of local leaders congratulated the Bloomfield Starbucks workers, including Pittsburgh mayor Ed Gainey who called the move a victory, saying it will inspire other workers in the city.
