Eight shot, one dead after violent day in Pittsburgh

One person is dead and eight others have injuries after a rash of shootings around Pittsburgh.

Three of the incidents happened in Pittsburgh. The first shooting occurred Downtown around 4 a.m. at the intersection of William Penn Place and Sixth Avenue.

A man who was shot in the hip was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

An hour later in Homewood South, shots were fired outside a nightclub in the 7200 block of Kelly Street.

Two men were wounded. Both were in critical condition.

Around 7 a.m. a man riding a bike was gunned down on the North Side near the intersection of Federal Street and West North Avenue.

Sunday afternoon, ShotSpotter alerted police to gun fire in the 6800 block of Kelly Street at 4:25 p.m.

Officers found a man with gunshot wounds to the shoulder and neck area. He was hospitalized in critical condition.

A man was taken to a hospital in critical condition after he was shot in the face last night in Duquesne. It happened about 9 p.m. in the 2700 block of Duquesne Place Drive.

On Monday morning, just after 4 a.m., two men were shot in Knoxville.

It happened near Bausman Street and Ibis way.

Officers were alerted to a seven round ShotSpotter notification.

They found one man with a gunshot wound to the arm, he was listed in stable condition. Another man was shot in the buttocks and was listed in critical condition.

Police are investigating.
