The fallout continues after the firing Pine-Richland head football coach Eric Kasperowicz and his assistant coaches Wednesday.

It was a somber day in the halls of school on Thursday.

"You could just look around today, kids' eyes were red, they just looked sad. I felt terrible," said senior Luke Miller.

Miller's father was one of the Rams assistant coaches let go Wednesday - along with head coach Eric Kasperowicz.

Though it's not clear why the district fired its football coaching staff five months off a state title, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette first reported the district was looking into hazing in the program.

In a statement Kasperowicz denied any hazing or bullying took place under his watch. Adding "If I became aware of any such claims, I met with the individuals and immediately put an end to it."

Miller, who is headed to play at Kent State next year, said the community is outraged at the district's decision. "Everybody's just in outrage right because everybody knows Coach Kasperowicz is great man, a class act," he said.

A district spokesperson confirmed the district would advertise the position of head football coach, but would otherwise not comment on a personnel matter.

Kasperowicz is a frequent guest on the KDKA Quest For the Best high school football show.
