
According to KDKA Radio’s Marty Griffin, the suspect involved in Wednesday’s active shooting in Garfield, that began just after 11.
He is being identified as William Hardison.
Griffin reports that Hardison has been charged with firearms violations in the past an has spent time in jail as well as some minor drug charges.
According to Griffin, Hardison’s family owns the home and he has not been paying taxes on the property.
According to court documents, There have been at least nine hearings concerning the property.
That is what prompted the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office to serve the eviction notice.
It was as at point that Hardison opened fire.
One Sargent was injured avoiding the gunfire. He was not hit and is doing “ok”.
Griffin also reports that Hardison was well stocked with firearms, as is evident with the hundreds of rounds that have been fired.
He also reportedly shot down at least two police drones.
Several witnesses have said their homes were hit with gunfire and windows were shot out.
Pittsburgh Police are in charge of the situation. When it is over, Pennsylvania State Troopers will take over the investigation.
