Pellet gun found in student vehicle at Montour High School

A pellet gun was found on the Montour High School campus Friday morning.

Superintendent Dr. Christopher Stone says the pellet gun was in a student’s vehicle.

Robinson Township Police responded and confiscated the weapon.

Dr. Stone says “it is important to know that the pellet gun never entered any school building.”

According to the District’s policy, a student that violates the weapon police is reported to local police, “cited for a 10 day out-of-school suspension”, faces an information hearing with school officials and a is “presented to the Board for a formal expulsion hearing proceeding in accordance with law.”

There were no disruptions to classes at the high school or the nearby elementary school.

Many districts in the area have been under a heightened alert following online threats to schools since the beginning of the new year.
