Bill Peduto is too afraid to come on my show

The very simple fact that Bill Peduto is too fearful to appear on this talk show - and look, this might sound a tad egocentric, a tad myopic, a tad self-centered - but the very simple fact that Bill Peduto will not appear on this talk show tells me all I need to know about him as a man, as a leader and as a politician.

I have never, ever been sideways with Peduto in any sort of interview in my career. Ever. Yet, he's afraid to come on this show.

Hey man, I'm not losing sleep over it, but it suggests to me that he's afraid.

And you can't run a city living in fear.

Bottom line.

And I'll tell you why I also know he's afraid. He is spending beaucoup bucks trying to take down Ed Gainey, suggesting he's in the pocket of frackers in a city that doesn't frack.

Huh?

Now suggesting, he's a thief, that there's money missing.

Attack ad after attack ad after attack ad. Last act of a desperate man.

This morning, something I thought I would never see or hear. The Post-Gazette - what can be best described these days as a conservative-leaning newspaper - has endorses Ed Gainey for Mayor of Pittsburgh.

Fascinating. It's a big step.
