A longtime stalwart of Atlanta television news has been pink-slipped after mocking former President Donald Trump on the air.

“Labor Day is when undecided voters and nonaligned voters really start focusing on the election ahead and keeping Donald Trump and his fantasy of elections being stolen in November of 2020 in play, keeps Donald Trump and his looming orange face in front of voters at a time when they’re trying to decide how they’re going to vote,” analyst Bill Crane said during a Sunday broadcast on WSB-TV.

Crane was relieved of his position the following day.

In a release confirming the firing, WSB general manager Ray Carter said Crane “uttered remarks not aligned with our commitment for fair and unbiased reporting and analysis.”

Crane released a response to having gotten the boot, saying, “I have turned in my badge, but I’m not going anywhere. The ego is bruised, and I am a bit down…but not out.”

The state of Georgia was ground zero for many of Trump’s fiercest contentions to the Presidential election results of 2020, including his infamous request that the state “find” enough votes to overturn Joe Biden’s electoral college victory in the Peach State.
