Pennsylvania's Alert PA app can now be used to gain access to COVID-19 vaccination information throughout the state.
The Department of Health's Acting Secretary, Alison Beam, says people have been asking for this update to be made.
“Through this update, users can now find the number of Pennsylvanians vaccinated, the locations of our vaccine providers, and can access the Your Turn eligibility tool through the app. We are continuously working to make certain that every Pennsylvanian has access to the most updated COVID-19 vaccine information in the state and are continuing to ensure the vaccine is provided in an ethical, equitable, and efficient way.”
Alert PA can also notify you of possible exposure to the virus and provide up to date case count information by county.
It also works with 21 other states, which include Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming. It also works with the District of Columbia.
The update also allows the app to run on older versions of iOS/Apple devices using iOS version 12.5 or higher.
According to Beam, more than 792,000 people have downloaded the app since its launch in September of 2020.
The app is available in the Apple App store or the Google Play store.
