ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Fans will be able to return to the ballpark and watch all St. Louis Cardinals Spring Training home games – which are set to begin in Jupiter, Fla. on Feb. 27. The Cardinals and Miami Marlins, who share the Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium (RDC) complex, are the first teams to announce Spring Training tickets going on sale.

Tickets to all Grapefruit League games at RDC will be sold in groups of two, four and six, with those seating pods scattered throughout the stadium. The stadium will also not accept cash at the ballpark.

Tickets for 2021 Spring Training games go on sale to 2020 Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium Season Ticket Holders on Feb. 1. Then on Feb. 8, Cardinals and Marlins season ticket holders will get their first chance to buy Spring Training tickets. And on Feb. 15, all remaining tickets will be on sale to the general public.

Tickets start for as low as $23 for bleacher seats at RDC.

The Cardinals are expected to start the season not allowing fans in Busch Stadium, but did say up to 12,000 fans may be allowed in at some point during the 2021 season. Read more about that plan, here.

The announcement comes on the same day that officials with the Cactus League and some Arizona government officials sent a letter to MLB commissioner Rob Manfred requesting the 2021 spring training schedule be delayed due to the area's COVID-19 situation, which is one of the worst in the nation.

The Associated Press reports, MLB said in a statement that it "will continue to consult with public health authorities, medical experts, and the Players Association whether any schedule modifications to the announced start of Spring Training and the Championship Season should be made in light of the current COVID-19 environment to ensure the safety of the players, coaches, umpires, MLB employees and other game day personnel in a sport that plays every day.”
